We have such a supportive community. Take for example Hillsboro Healing Hearts, created by Kris Kellor and her daughter Amy Sherwood, who make handcrafted mastectomy pillows.

They recently donated several pillows to help our patients during recovery from breast cancer surgery.

Mastectomy pillows provide comfort and rest to patients after surgery. They gently tuck underneath the arm to keep it from rubbing against tender areas.

“We are so privileged to have such talented community members that want to share their skills and talents with our cancer patients,” said Mary Lucas Koach, Breast Health Services manager. “It is truly a special gift of love that can bring a wealth of comfort and support during a challenging journey.”

The gift is a reflection of the support our community has for each other.
