Center for Geriatric Psychiatry
The challenges of growing older can be overwhelming. Yet, feelings of depression, grief and loss, stress, and anxiety don’t need to be faced alone. We can help. Our geriatric psychiatry program is designed to help older people with their unique needs.
As a first step, we invite you or your loved one to participate in a confidential screening at no cost, either on the phone or in person. The screening determines whether the situation meets our admissions criteria. If so, our treatment team will help set up a treatment planning process. Those not requiring admission will be referred to other local resources for appropriate treatment.
By teaching alternative coping and care-giving skills, evaluating medications, and promoting wellness, we have helped many older patients function at their best and to achieve emotional stability. We do this through psychiatric assessment, physical and cognitive evaluations, psychosocial assessment, individual and group counseling, and therapeutic group activities.
We invite you to contact us if you have quesitons about geriatric psychiatry or behavioral concerns about an older adult you know.
