Tuality Healthcare is pleased to announce the promotion of Sonney Sapra to the position of chief information officer (CIO).

In this role, Sapra oversees staff and operations related to both management information systems and clinical information systems. These include Tuality Healthcare’s extensive electronic medical records (EMR) program, and all other computer and telecommunications systems. He takes over for John Stoneburg, who recently retired from the organization after 26 years of service.

Sapra first joined Tuality in 2008 as director in charge of EMR, which was launched the same year as one of the most comprehensive hospital-based systems in the region.

Prior to coming to Tuality, he worked as a clinical information systems project manager at Children’s Hospital and Regional Medical Center in Seattle. He also served as a project manager and senior analyst for Cerner Corporation, Tuality’s primary EMR technology vendor. While with Cerner, he oversaw international healthcare IT projects in Australia, France, Canada and Malaysia.

“Sonney’s work in leading our EMR program has been outstanding,” said Dick Stenson, president & CEO, Tuality Healthcare. “His skills and experience are exactly what we need in a chief information officer as we move forward with expanding these vital capabilities.”

Sapra earned his degree in audio engineering at Middlesex University in London, followed by additional training at the University of Kansas School of Business in Lawrence, Kan.

In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and son. Additionally, he enjoys traveling, discovering other cultures and cuisines, and recording, mixing and mastering music.
