The Tuality Endoscopy Center at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro was recently recognized for promoting high quality and safety standards by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE).
Tuality’s is one of just three units in Oregon to receive the honor, which is provided on a three-year basis through the ASGE’s Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program. Final recipients are determined by the national ASGE Governing Board.
The certificate of recognition is awarded to units that follow the ASGE guidelines on physician and staff qualifications, quality assurance, equipment reprocessing, and adherence to infection control guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC).
“This is a welcome confirmation of the level of service and expertise we strive for each day at the Tuality Endoscopy Center,” said Ronald Hapke, M.D., a Tuality Healthcare gastroenterology specialist who practices with Hillsboro Gastroenterology. “I’d like to applaud the staff for this achievement, which stems from Tuality’s dedication to patient care and a continual pursuit of the highest quality standards.”
“As one of just three programs in the state to have received this national recognition, the Tuality Endoscopy Center ranks among the finest anywhere in this vital and growing medical specialty,” said Dick Stenson, president & CEO, Tuality Healthcare.
The Tuality Endoscopy Center provides diagnostic services for conditions affecting the organs of the digestive system. Assisted by specially trained nurses and other staff, board-certified gastroenterology specialists use advanced endoscopic technology to perform a variety of procedures. These include colonoscopies, gastrointestinal endoscopies, colon cancer screenings, and many others.
