Tuality Healthcare’s new Summer Youth Program is hosting 12 student volunteers from a number of schools in the region, giving them the opportunity to see the organization’s medical professionals in action at Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro.

The participants are exploring their interests in medical careers while being mentored by nurses and other clinical staff in the hospital’s critical care center, birth center, and general medical/surgical floors.

The students also are assisting with a variety of general activities, including pushing people in wheelchairs, making beds, and spending time with patients who might enjoy some friendly conversation.

“We’re off to a terrific start with the program,” said Joyce White, volunteer services manager, Tuality Healthcare.  “The students are outstanding and have been a wonderful addition to our Tuality team.”
