Portland Monthly magazine names Nash a top doctor

The medical director of the Tuality Center for Geriatric Psychiatry in Forest Grove has been chosen as one of the top doctors in the Portland metropolitan area by Portland Monthly magazine in its January, 2014 issue.

Dr. Maureen Nash is listed among the top psychiatrists in the metro area in a vote of Portland-area doctors, nurses and physician’s assistants. The magazine named 464 top doctors in 79 specialties from Washington, Multnomah, Clackamas and Clark counties. Nash was one of 10 doctors selected in the specialty field of psychiatry.

Nash, MS, MD, FAPA, is an attending psychiatrist and internist at Tuality Forest Grove Hospital. She is a recognized expert on treating dementia-related behavior and has given presentations on the subject at major conventions in the U.S. and abroad. She participated in the State Plan for Alzheimer’s Disease in Oregon and serves on the board of directors of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry. She has a clinical appointment at Oregon Health & Sciences University and works with physician assistant students at Pacific University.

The Tuality Center for Geriatric Psychiatry in Forest Grove is the largest acute care geriatric psychiatry hospital unit in Oregon and southwest Washington and receives  referrals involving challenging patients from all parts of Oregon and beyond.

Dr. Nash is board certified in both psychiatry and internal medicine and earned her medical degree at the University Of Kansas School Of Medicine in Kansas City. She completed her residency at the combined internal medicine/psychiatry residency program at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., where she served as chief resident. She also was an instructor in psychiatry at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, N.H. She joined Tuality’s Center for Geriatric Psychiatry in 2005.
