The Tuality Healthcare Foundation is currently accepting applications and will award scholarships in June to two high school seniors who seek a career in health care.
The Flo Rhea Health Careers Endowment Scholarship was established in 1992 to pay tribute to Flo’s 12 years of service to Tuality. Funds were raised for this endowed scholarship from Flo’s family and friends and serves as a reminder of her outstanding inspiration, values, and commitment to the future of health care by investing in the young people of our community. The scholarship will award one (1) $1,000 scholarship to a student pursuing a career in a human health-care related field.
The Dr. Marvin J. Robb Memorial Scholarship will award one (1) $1,600 scholarship to a student pursuing a career in a human health-care related field. Dr. Robb practiced medicine at Tuality Community Hospital for 38 years and retired in 1983. In 2007, Marlys Carter, a Tuality Healthcare Foundation board member, established the Dr. Marvin J. Robb Memorial Scholarship in honor of Dr. Robb’s many years of service to the community.
Each applicant must be a current graduating high school senior attending one of the following schools: Aloha, Banks, Banks Christian Academy, Century, Faith Bible Christian, Forest Grove, Gaston, Glencoe, Hillsboro, Liberty, Life Christian, Miller Education Center or Westview. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and must meet other selection criteria. Application forms will be available beginning February 25 in the career counseling centers of the aforementioned high schools, by contacting the Tuality Healthcare Foundation at 503-681-1170, or by visiting the foundation website at www.tualityfoundation.org/tualityfoundation_scholarships.html.
