On the Road to Prevention

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among American women, and the second-leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Mammograms save lives. Many women lack access to them—especially those in Oregon’s northwestern coastal communities. Transportation, financial, and other challenges can make it difficult to get mammograms.

The campaign has three important goals:

  1. Replace Tuality Healthcare’s aging 24-year-old mammography van with a new state-of-the-art van with the latest in diagnostic capability. The new van will allow travel to an expanded area including rural Oregon where many women face barriers to healthcare.
  2. Fund an outreach/patient navigator position for three years to help educate women about the importance and availability of mammograms, and assist them through their journey of care.
  3.  Create a cancer care fund for underserved women needing mammograms, as well as travel and lodging assistance when receiving treatment at Tuality Healthcare.

Chances are you know a woman whose life was changed forever by breast cancer. When you join On the Road to Prevention, you’re helping bring mammograms and cancer support to underserved women in communities from Washington County to the coast. You can be a life-saver for the most vulnerable women in our communities.

Be a life saver and donate here!
